Neo-Natal Help

Ma’aynei Hayeshua Medical Center (MYMC) is located in Bnei Brak, Israel. Over 7,500 babies are born there every year and hundreds of premies with low chances of survival are saved.

Neo-Natal help

Our most recent grant to MYMC was the purchase of a neoBlue cozy. The neoBLUE® LED Phototherapy system is an innovative phototherapy light, incorporating a state-of-the-art blue LED light source for the treatment of newborn jaundice. The neoBLUE cozy system is positioned underneath the baby to deliver phototherapy via a blue LED light source. It is safe, designed for comfort and support and is the most effective means for degradation of bilirubin as it delivers three times the intensity of the standard blue light therapy. Every week, 2-3 babies will be treated with blue light phototherapy unit. With this high intensity light treatment MYMC can reduce more rapidly the blood level of bilirubin and reduce the danger of causing any damage to the central nervous system.

Prior to this grant, Hands On Tzedakah partnered with two other donors in the purchase of an ultrasound machine to be used both in the maternity ward and neo-natal units. Upon our visit to the hospital we met with the staff toured the nursery, neo-natal unit and the maternity ward. To see over 100 hundred babies in bassinets next to one another was a sight to behold. The work being done at MYMC to save lives is remarkable.
