Tova's Kitchen

Visiting Tova’s Kitchen in the Bukharan quarter of Jerusalem is a matter of proportion: the kitchen is very small, the synagogue where Tova Cohen feeds a hot meal daily to about 20 seniors is very small, the Jerusalem side street is small, and she herself is well under five feet tall. But her pots of soup and rice and chicken and vegetables are huge. Whenever we visit Tova, we see elderly people walking up to her, with pot in hand, for a ladle of the food Tova prepared that day.

Our Involvement

Hands on Tzedakah arranged for our agent in Israel to buy and install a slip-proof runner for the walkway, so the people in need and Tova herself, stay safe from falling. We continue to give Tova money to buy food.
